Agri-Food and Forest

Given favorable conditions, availability of natural resources and regional diversity, Brazil has the natural aptitude for agri-food and forest business, which is the primary sector of the economy, and its inter-relationships of agriculture-livestock-forests are very relevant for worldwide visibility, distinction, and impact in the country. Brazil's competitiveness before the challenge to increase quality and quantity of goods in a sustainable fashion requires investment and technological development, related to the so-called digital agriculture or, in a more generically term, smart farming. This business area aims the conception, management and execution of research and technological developments that add value to the agri-food and forest chains, through the prospection of synergies between IB's research areas and the productive sector.
