Robotics and Smart Systems

The Robotics and Smart Systems area from INESC P&D Brazil works with research and innovation in the robotics and smart systems areas. Our interest starts from the mechanical project until the development of control systems of robots that are capable of adapting autonomously to different scenarios and to deal with uncertainties and with the dynamics of complex and heterogeneous settings. The activity of this area is driven to the development of industrial robotics, as well as mobile robotics in aspects related to autonomous navigation, control and decision applied to air, terrestrial and aquatic environments. The technologies developed within the group have direct application in the areas of assistive technologies, services, autonomous vehicles, inspection, safety, and monitoring systems, as well as in the development of sensors and monitoring systems.
