IND4FIBRE Project

Funded by the Brazilian Agency of Industrial Development (ABDI-SECINT/Ministry of Economy), the project called IND4FIBRE got started in this month of October, coordinated by INESC P&D Brasil, with a duration forecast of 18 months. The project consists in the development of a platform for experimental trials of alarms, within the scope of the 4.0 industry, through the extension of the FIBRE testbed of the Teaching and Research National Network (RNP) in order to integrate sensors and actuators in experimental environments of physical cyber systems and simulations of industrial plants connected by a data infrastructure capable of enabling a user so that he/she remotely configures a set of equipment and sensors made available in different laboratories. The systems will be based on the Internet of Things (IoT), which is a central theme in the technologies for the 4.0 industry.

Besides INESC Brasil and RNP, the following are part of the program: RYD Engenharia Importação e Exportação, FLEXSIM Brasil and the institutions that are integral parts of the IB network: Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Federal University of Goiás (UFG) and Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). Amongst the forecast deliverables is the capacitation in the use of the platform for workers of the industrial associations of the state of Goiás.
