The biomedical engineering area has the goal of carrying out research and development of technologies and equipment with application in fields such as medical and physiotherapy, whereas the project involves the application of knowledge and concepts in the health and biology areas. Most important, the area focuses on the development of monitoring systems of different parameters associated to vital conditions, systems for the acquisition and analysis of signals and medical images, biomedical sensors, and equipment to assist in the treatment of diseases, among others.
