The Blue Economy and Oceans business area is dedicated to enable the conception, elaboration and execution of technological development projects related to oceans, as so to address the technological, ecological, and social economical aspects inherent to it. Therefore, it determines the relationship with the Brazilian vocation for exploration of oceans, focused on the naval industry, and attempts to meet society's demands, both in the industrial development domain, as well in the advisory field, and in the local and central administration, as well as in favor of the environment, and they can equally be directed towards research and development activities. This business area has a close relationship with all IB's research areas.
