Hosting a provider of charging stations for electric vehicles is very important for Morocco, as the country is a major automotive hub. Accordingly, the Green Energy Park of Morocco has a demand for a national DC charging station for its portfolio, following the iSmart project’s AC charging station. Therefore, the project FACILE – Fast Chargers Implemented from Laboratory to Enterprise was designed.
This project addresses the challenge of developing new fast charger prototypes for electric vehicles that can be tested and confirmed to meet applicable industry standards, and be transferred to manufacturing companies to further integrate them into a product.
The INESC R&D Brazil coordinates the project and has the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) as a participant, especially INEP – Institute of Power Electronics. The project is financed by a partnership between the OCP Group and Iresen, a renewable energy research institute and means agency of the Moroccan government.
