Douglas Dyllon Jeronimo de Macedo is Adjunct Professor at the Federal University de Santa Catarina (UFSC). Received his PhD in Knowledge Engineering from UFSC in 2014. During the PhD period, was visiting researcher at Western University (UWO), in London (ON), Canada. Is permanent member of the Computer Science (PPGCC) and Information Science (PGCIN) Graduate Programs, conducting research and supervising Master’s and PhD students. Is coordinator of the Engineering and Data Science Laboratory (LECID), where he and his group conduct research and projects in scientific and technological trends. Experience in R&D&I projects, having worked as coordinator, collaborator and evaluator of projects funded by national and international development agencies or by the private sector. Also, he is a reviewer of scientific journals and is member of national and international conference program committees. Prof. Douglas has experience in the area of Computer Science, with emphasis on Computer Networks, Non-conventional Databases, Distributed Systems and Medical Computing. More specifically, he is involved in the following areas: Data Storage, Distributed Environments, Internet of Things (IoT), Data Engineering and Computing Applied to Health Care.
