The Ordinary General Assembly of INESC P&D Brasil took place on March 6, in São Paulo, leading to the unanimous approval of the Strategic Plan for 2020. The consolidation, development and internationalisation of the institution were some of the main goals presented at the event, as well as the establishment of a new paradigm of science management in Brazil, through multi-institutional and multidisciplinary cooperation, aiming at technology transfer.

The resigning Board presented the Activity Report for 2019 and the Budget Plan for 2020, which were unanimously approved. The key-outcomes of the meeting were: the exponential increase in activity, which contributed to doubling the budget over consecutive years (also expected to occur in 2020); the positive results during 2019, thus consolidating consecutive years of surplus; institutional consolidation, through the admission of new universities as members; and the successful internationalisation, in partnership with Brazilian companies, and through the participation in EU projects.

INESC TEC presented the new Board of INESC P&D Brazil to the remaining associates, more specifically: Vladimiro Miranda, as Director-President; Alexandre Rocco (Professor at Santa Cecília University) as Executive Director; Mauro Rosa (Professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina) as Science and Technology Director and Roberto da Piedade Francisco (Professor at the Federal University of Goiás) as Director. This proposal was unanimously approved, and the new members of the Board were elected and took office, as well as entrusted with exercising their terms for the following two years.

The vote of praise for the outgoing Board was approved, acknowledging the work carried out during the term. João Claro, Chief Executive Officer of INESC TEC, presented solutions to setbacks related to INESC P&D Brazil and partner universities. A vote of praise for the Fiscal Board was also approved, for the support provided to the institution.

The admission of new members – as founders or institutional partners – was unanimously approved, and the Board was mandated to complete their processes.

Representatives of all members (two via videoconference), comprising deans, pro-deans or their delegates, as well as the CEO of INESC TEC. attended the Ordinary General Meeting.
