The Technological Federal University of Paraná (UTFPR) is the latest Brazilian University to join the Network INESC Brazil, cooperation network managed by INESC P & D Brazil.
The history of UTFPR began in 1909 with the establishment of the Apprentice Craftsmen schools in various Brazilian state capitals. In 1974 the first short courses of Engineering Operations (Civil Construction and Electric) were created and today UTFPR is assumed as an eminently technological institution, even being one of the largest engineering schools in the country.
With qualified teachers in various areas of knowledge, UTFPR offers nearly a hundred undergraduate courses distributed in various areas of engineering and 28 Postgraduate Programs (PhD and Masters) in 13 campus located in strategic regions of the state of Paraná. Of the many existing research laboratories at the University, we highlight the two who are currently developing work with INESC P & D Brazil: the Laboratory for Telecommunications Systems (LabSC), with practical skills related to telecommunications systems, wireless networking and computing; and the Laboratory for Spatial Analysis and Geostatistics Modeling (LEMOG), with knowledge in the areas of modeling and quantification of environmental quantities. Hopefully, in the near future, other laboratories may engage in further research jointly with INESC P & D Brazil.
