On October 22, 2020, the Workshop of the Fasten Project (Flexible and Autonomous Manufacturing Systems for Custom-Designed Products) took place, organized by INESC P&D Brasil. The event, which lasted three hours, was broadcast live on YouTube, as part of the Goiano Meeting of Studies in Production Engineering (EGOEEP).
FASTEN is a project that has participating entities in Brazil and Europe, and EGOEPP was the last event of the project that brought together the entire consortium, from both sides of the Atlantic. The EGOEEP, an open event, had a dual objective: to present the results of the research and, at the same time, to promote the dissemination of its contents to the general public.
The FASTEN Project is focused on developing an open and standardized structure in order to produce and supply tailor-made products capable of autonomously functioning and providing products from additive manufacturing, with low cost, in the context of industry 4.0. The presentations at the event were organized around the application cases involving the industries participating in the project and topics such as: additive manufacturing, robotics, process integration, innovation and open industrial platforms.
All researchers participating in the project took part in the event, which involves 6 companies and 8 Brazilian and European science and technology institutions. The workshop was mediated by the Professor Dr. Enzo Frazzon, and presentations of the phases of the project were given by the research participants. There was also a stage in the event in which the audience had the opportunity to ask live questions to the speakers.
The Fasten project involves the INESC P&D Brazil, the INESC TEC, the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUC-RS), Thyssenkrupp Brazil, Embraer Brasil, Bradel Distribuição Ltda, TXT e-solutions, Politecnico di Milano (PoliMi), PACE Aerospace and Information Technology GmbH, the Consorzio Intellimech (iMech), as well as Embraer Portugal. The resources come from the IV Europe Brazil Rescript (European Commission and Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications of Brazil) with resources managed in Brazil by the National Network of Teaching and Research (RNP).
