QEE Project

On October 2018, the project Development of an electricity quality monitoring system and decision making in transmission lines got started. The goal of this initiative is the development and implementation, at two 230 kV substations, of a prototype of an electrical power online quality monitoring system, capable of assisting the asset management in electricity transmission grids. The system under development has, as one of its main references the MEDFASE Project, which is an initiative from LabPlan/UFSC related to the development of a synchrophasors technology, which results over the last decade have been largely applied into performance analysis of the Interconnected National System, which clearly demonstrates the flow of the concepts developed at universities for industry deployment.

The project is coordinated by INESC P&D Brazil and has the participation of Juiz de Fora Federal University (UFJF) and of Santa Catarina Federal University (UFSC). It has funding from an array of Brazilian companies that form the BET – Brazilian Electricity Transmitters, at the research environment ruled by the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (P&D ANEEL).
