The project to develop a Virtual and Augmented Reality System for Training and Maintenance Assistance (SRVAM) seeks to unite the virtualization and immersion methodologies via virtual reality glasses to subsequently include maintenance and utilities information for presentation via a virtual reality environment that does not exist on the market.
Using SRVAM, a training environment for equipment maintenance was created, capable of providing interactive virtual manuals and a maintenance guide (augmented reality), in such a way that the maximum level of learning can be achieved without access to the equipment, resulting in cost and maintenance time reduction.
It was developed by researchers at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) and the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), under the coordination of INESC R&D Brazil, and was funded by TBE. The project started in June 2017 and ended in May 2021.
