The project “Integrated Water, Cost and Energy Management Using Deep Learning Stochastic Models for Increased Efficiency of Hydroelectric Power Plants” aims to design an integrated management system for water, operation and optimized energy use, in order to obtain assertiveness in the projection of short-term energy prices (PLD) up to 4 weeks ahead, enabling optimal reservoir operation.
INESC R&D Brazil and Mind Source Consultores do Brasil (coordinating entities) have the support of researchers from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) and the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) for the development of the project, which has the companies EDP Geração, Lajeado Energia S.A. and Energest – Engenharia e Sistemas de Energia S.A. as financial sponsors
Undertaken in the Research and Development environment of Brazil’s National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL R&D), it started in May 2018, and it was completedin April 2020.
