Edson Guedes da Costa has a degree in Electrical Engineering (1978), a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (1981) and a PhD (1999) in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Paraíba, currently the Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG). He is currently Full Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Federal University of Campina Grande. He has been dedicated to the orientation of undergraduate, masters and doctoral students and has participated in several research and development projects, type R & D, for numerous companies in the Brazilian electrical sector, as coordinator and researcher. He has worked in the coordination of national and international agreements. He has experience in Electrical Engineering, with emphasis on Electric Energy Transmission, Distribution of Electric Energy, working mainly in the following subjects: electric fields, monitoring and diagnosis of electrical systems and power equipment, monitoring of insulation systems applied in systems high voltage, generally has been researching electrical grounding, circuit breakers, transformers, zinc oxide surge arresters, high voltage, transmission line. Edson Guedes is a reviewer of articles in numerous national and international congresses and reviewer of renowned scientific journals. It is associated with SBA, IEEE, and Cigre.
