He holds an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Juiz de Fora Federal University (1993), a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Itajubá Federal University (1999), PhD in Electrical Engineering from Itajubá Federal University (2002), a visiting researcher at University of California, Irvine (2006) and visiting researcher at the School of Engineering of Porto (2012). Professor of Itajubá Federal University between the years 2002 and 2010, coordinator of the post-graduation in electrical engineering program between 2005 and 2010 at UNIFEI. He currently is an Associate Professor at Juiz de Fora Federal University. He has experience in the Electrical Engineering Area, with emphasis in distinct areas such as the Electrical Energy Transmission, Distribution of Electrical Energy, IT and Robotics, mainly working with the following subjects: evolutionary algorithms, probabilistic methods, optimal power flow, autonomous vehicles, fuzzy, pattern recognition and optimization. Coordinator of the first project of a national autonomous car. Coordinator of an international project of development of an underwater autonomous vehicle for inspection of barrages of hydroelectric power plants. Member of the management committee of the INERGE, National Institute of Electrical Energy. Member of the committee of the CBA programs in 2008 and 2010. He has participated in more than 15 research projects under development.
