Short CV – Mario Dantas

Mario Dantas is a Full Professor in the Department of Computer Science (DCC), the Institute of Exact Sciences (ICE) of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) and the Graduate Program in Computer Science (PPGCC) of Exact Sciences (ICE). He has a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Southampton (UK), post-doctorate and visiting professor at the University of Western Ontario (Canada), and Senior Visiting Scientist at Riken (Japan, 2017-2018). Professor Dantas is the author of 50 articles published in national and international journals and more than 150 scientific articles published in events in Brazil, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Croatia, the United States, Finland, France, Greece, Holland, England , Italy, Morocco, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Switzerland, Thailand and Tunisia in the areas of IoT, computer networks, mobile computing and high performance parallel and distributed computing. In addition to the articles, he has authored 3 books and 18 chapters in books published in Germany, Canada, the USA, the Netherlands and England on the topics of distributed computing. These works yielded three international and four national awards. Mario Dantas was Professor of the Graduate Program in Computing (PPGCC) and Knowledge Engineering (EGC) at UFSC and the University of Brasilia (UnB). He also worked for more than ten years at Petrobras (Department of Production) and at the Army Technological Center (Ctex), in support of network environments and the development of distributed applications. He has worked in several specialization courses in the area of computing. Prof. Dantas has already taught hundreds of undergraduate, master’s and PhD’s degrees in topics related to the computer system area, and has been honored twenty-one times for his undergraduate work at UnB and UFSC. In addition, Prof. Dantas has acted as consultant on different research projects with the industry in the areas of networks, distributed systems, high performance environments and Internet of Things (IoT).
